Today Zhejiang Wanli College established the "One Belt, One Road" talent training innovation platform and the Sino-German Institute of Design and Communication. This signifies another step forward in the internationalization of education in Ningbo.

The Sino-German School of Design and Communication is established in cooperation with Zhejiang Wanli College and Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Design and Communication to cultivate international design application talents and further promote the development of Ningbo's industrial design and creative industries. It is reported that after the establishment of the college, it will fully introduce the training standards, core curriculum and quality assurance system of Hamburg University of Design and Communication Applied Sciences in brand design, communication and management, etc. The first batch of three undergraduate majors will be opened, such as visual communication design, advertising, exhibition economy and management, etc., to carry out 2+2 training and joint teaching by the two sides. By then, the two sides will integrate their disciplinary advantages in the field of brand design and communication, and provide Chinese students with international schooling conditions, advanced design and communication learning experiences, practical internships in internationally renowned companies and opportunities to study and exchange in Germany, so as to cultivate new high-level design and communication professionals with international vision, cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to participate in international competition. The annual enrollment is 270 undergraduates.

According to Ningbo's 13th Five-Year Plan for Strategic Emerging Industries, we have to make every effort to build an influential brand of "Ningbo Design" in China, and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences for Design and Communication is the only university in Europe with core content of brand teaching and research. The Sino-German School of Design and Communication with Wanli College will bring more opportunities and strength to Ningbo Design in the future.

The reporter also learned that the newly established "One Belt, One Road" talent training innovation platform includes the Central and Eastern European Culture and Communication Center, the International Center for Economic and Trade Education, and the Industrial Design and Big Data Technology Center, which will collaborate with universities and multiple departments in Central and Eastern European countries in the fields of language and culture, economic and trade finance, design and communication, and big data application and innovation. The university will build a talent cultivation mechanism, optimize the cultivation path of internationalized applied talents, create multi-modal and multi-functional cultivation modes such as order-based and project-based, and cultivate a large number of international composite applied talents who know both the language and culture of the other side through short-term exchange, dual-degree, master's degree and other multi-level cooperation projects.

The Sino-German Institute of Design and Communication is just one of the programs. Other programs include the annual "order-based" Czech language classes. In the specialties of accounting, international economics and trade, e-commerce and finance, 10 students will be selected each year to train cross-cultural and complex business application talents with the key partner universities of "One Belt, One Road", and the number is planned to reach 30 in 2020. At the same time, the exchange program for students from universities in Central and Eastern Europe will be launched, and the number of students is planned to increase to 60 in 2020.

This year, the International Center for Economic and Trade Education launched short-term exchange, exchange students and multi-level academic education programs for undergraduate and graduate students according to the geopolitical characteristics and foundation of the partner universities, and plans to enroll about 20 international students; the Center for Industrial Design and Big Data Technology officially launched the "2+2" training program and established the "China Private Economy Cultural Exchange Center" at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences for Design and Communication.
