Zhejiang Wanli College Hamburg Campus inaugurated | Sino-German exchange opens a new chapter of "going out"

On September 28, the inauguration ceremony of Zhejiang Wanli College Hamburg Campus was held at Mozart Hall in Hamburg. Representatives from the Consulate General in Hamburg, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Design and Communication, the Hamburg International Academy of Media Arts and New Media, the German-Chinese Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, the German-Chinese Contemporary Center, Unilever, Montblanc and other Chinese and foreign institutions were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

"The exchange between Chinese and German culture and education needs supporters and guides, and it is also the sacred mission of educators to cultivate complex talents with outstanding intercultural communication skills, which are urgently needed for international exchange." This was the expectation of Sun Congbin, Consul General of our Consulate General in Hamburg, to all Chinese and Germans at the inauguration of the Hamburg campus of Zhejiang Wanli College. SHAN FAN, President of the University of Applied Sciences for Design and Communication in Hamburg, Germany, also expressed his expectations for our Hamburg campus, and he hoped that the campus would be like a sapling that would thrive under the joint nourishment of Chinese and German culture.

The Sino-German School of Design and Communication will always maintain a linkage with the Hamburg campus, adhering to the national "One Belt, One Road" strategy and the international education concept of the school "going out", so that we have more opportunities to tell "China stories" and European students are more interested in listening to "Chinese voices". This will give us more opportunities to tell the "China story" and give European students more interest to listen to the "China voice". This will be another milestone in Sino-German cooperation and learning.

It is reported that the Hamburg campus will offer professional courses in Oriental philosophy, Oriental culture and Chinese language and literature for European students. The campus will also offer modular courses under the disciplines of economics, management and art for students from the main office of Zhejiang Wanli College, establish a cooperation network of Chinese and German enterprises and a practical teaching platform for Chinese and German students, train cross-cultural talents for Chinese and German enterprises and provide human resources guarantee for Chinese enterprises going abroad.

China and Germany will cooperate in the areas of international talent training, international academic and scientific research exchanges, international construction of faculty, and integration of international cooperation resources to further promote all-round learning and exchange in economy, culture and education between the two sides, to jointly build a future-oriented education and cultivate applied talents with international vision. This brings greater challenges and opportunities for our Sino-German College, and at the same time, provides a very stable platform for our teachers and students to go overseas for further training and teaching interaction.

The establishment of the Hamburg Academy is the first step of Zhejiang Wanli College's international education "going out", I believe that in the near future, the majority of Sino-German students will contribute to the Sino-German cooperation and exchange and brand building.
