Using the brush to convey the sense of hearing

Various human senses, such as sight, sound, smell, touch and taste, can produce beauty, and they are more divided, yet connected to each other. From the perspective of cognition, commensality is also a form of cognition.

In the Workshop on April 12, Professor Michael Kress took the students into the Mind Cinema behind the music, allowing them to use the brush to relay the sense of hearing, using the perceptual interaction between image and sound to express ideas in a special way of transformation.

First of all, Professor Micheal gave the audience a light-hearted piece of music, "Pink Moon", a single written by British musician Nick Drake in 1972. The students drew the stories they "heard" from the song in the chord sound, and their fantasies were bubbling pink.

The students recorded their stories in 12 scenes boxes with split shots and constructed the background time place and characters of their stories. The ultimate task at the end was to design relevant brands and logos with their stories and show their creativity to everyone. After reading the story scenes drawn by the students, Professor Micheal finally unveiled the mystery behind Pink Moon. It turns out that this Pink Moon is the BGM of Volkswagen's commercial!

Although the students' stories were very different from each other, each story was an artistic re-creation. This first experience of combining the auditory and visual senses allowed the students to learn about a different art form and learn to express what is inside them by using fluency combined with artistic creation.
