A special little interview special about Steffen!

Professor Steffen Kealauch, who taught the course "Fundamentals of Design" at the Sino-German Institute, showed the unique German gentleness during his nine weeks of patient instruction, and now Steffen has gone back to Germany. Do you remember Steffen's amazing Chinese pronunciation? No one could have imagined that such a standard Chinese pronunciation came from our foreign teacher!

Q1: Tell us a little bit about your personal experience or work.

As a graphic designer and art director, I worked for clients in the fields of business and culture. Kassel and I was a trained porcelain painter.

My clients include public institutions such as the Federal Government as well as smaller companies in the fields of literature and photography.

Today, I'm engaged in teaching brand design at Chinese art schools with a focus on the potential impact and social significance of design.

As a graphic designer and art director, I have worked for clients in the commercial and cultural sectors. I studied visual communication at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Art Academy of Kassel, Germany) and I am also a professional porcelain painter. My clients have included public institutions such as the federal government as well as companies in the field of literature and photography. And now I am also teaching brand design at institutions in China, where my teaching focuses on the potential impact and social significance of design.

Q2: In your student years, what do you think is the biggest bottleneck you have encountered in studying art design?

During my studies I always missed the evaluation of my performance, because we didn't get any credits and were very free.
