On the morning of September 24, 2020, the opening ceremony of the 2020 class of Sino-German School of Design and Communication of Zhejiang Wanli College was successfully held in the academic lecture hall of Qianhu Campus of our university. All the faculty members of Sino-German College of Design and Communication, Prof. Stefan Waller, representative of German Brand University of Applied Sciences, and all the new students of 2020 Sino-German College participated in this ceremony together.
The ceremony was hosted by Ding Yajun, Secretary of the General Party Branch. Professor Qian Guoying, Vice President of Zhejiang Wanli College and Dean of Sino-German School of Design and Communication, Professor Stefan Waller, International Academic Director of German University of Applied Sciences for Branding, teacher representative Mr. Gao Di, representatives of 19 students and 20 new students spoke on stage. Prof. Stefan Haarhaus, Vice President of the German University of Applied Sciences for Branding, sent his expectations and wishes to the new students from Germany by video.
Vice President Qian Guoying firstly expressed his warm welcome and sincere wishes to all the new students of Class of 2020. In his speech, President Qian told all the freshmen to learn English in a practical way to adapt to the current international education and future international life, and to become international talents with all-round development, taking into account the development history of our school.
Prof. Stefan Haarhaus from Hamburg, Germany, expressed his warm welcome to the Sino-German College Class of 2020 in a video message. Prof. Haarhaus firmly stated that the two universities will overcome the difficulties together in the period of epidemic prevention, deepen the cooperation between the two universities and provide valuable experience for the upcoming post-epidemic era.
On behalf of the German Brand University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Stefan Waller, who came to the conference, expressed his warm welcome and high expectations for the new students of the class of 2020. In spite of the special time, Prof. Waller wished all students a new academic year full of precious reflections and meaningful international experiences.
As a representative of the faculty, Ms. Gao Di encouraged all the new students and wished them a good academic career with an original poem. At the same time, she also urged the new students to be cautious, determined to move forward, and live up to their full potential. Ms. Gao Di's speech was full of warmth and inspiration, which drew applause from the stage.

The representatives of the old and new students of the Sino-German College also expressed their messages and prospects for the new semester and the new students in both Chinese and English.
Mao Xinyi, the representative of 2019 class, through the summary of her college life in the past year, enlightened the freshmen to fully understand themselves, their environment, learn to coordinate and plan their academic development reasonably.
Jin Yijie and Huang Zihan, representatives of the class of 2020, expressed their firm belief in going forward on the study path and hoped to make a wish with all the new students to become confident, mature, tolerant and diversified people of Zhongde and Wanli in the process of hard work and study.
