In the afternoon of March 20, former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Germany, Mr. Shi Mingde, accompanied by Prof. Shan Fan, President of the University of Applied Sciences for Design and Communication in Hamburg, visited the Sino-German School of Design and Communication.
Ying Xiong, Chairman of Zhejiang Wanli Education Group, and Qian Guoying, Vice President of Zhejiang Wanli College and Dean of Sino-German College of Design and Communication, accompanied Ambassador Michael Shi and his delegation to visit the open information screen, Mac classroom and interactive workshop of Sino-German College.
Ambassador Shi entered the classroom of Visual Communication Design 2+2 major "Stylistic Language" and had a cordial conversation with Professor Steffen Kalauch from Hamburg, Germany, asking about Professor Kalauch's teaching and life in Wanli College and interacting with the students present.
Afterwards, Ambassador Schmieder visited the school library and the school building and gave a lecture on "Current Sino-German Relations" to all students and teachers. Ambassador Shi introduced the evolution of Sino-German relations and proposed to take the Belt and Road as an opportunity to strengthen multilateral cooperation and promote innovation in education.
He pointed out that brand building presents an increasingly important position in the market economy, and because the development of related professions is relatively backward compared with the West, foreign brands have brought impact on traditional national brands after entering the market. At this stage, China urgently needs to establish brands, and the training of talents is the key to shorten the gap. Ambassador Shi encouraged Zhejiang Wanli College, as a practitioner of China's education reform, to further strengthen cooperation and exchange with German universities and keep breaking through innovation.
