Sino-German College Glocal New Model: Exploring New Paths of International Education Cooperation

From November 22 to 24, a group of four members of the teaching work audit and assessment rectification and return visit team, headed by Wang Hua, former president of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, came to Zhejiang Wanli College to carry out a return visit to the rectification and assessment of our undergraduate teaching work audit and assessment.

The rectification visit is oriented to the integration of industry and education, party building leading and internationalized teaching, and Sino-German College of Design and Communication, as the representative of internationalized teaching, is the key visiting college in this visit.

In the morning of the 23rd, the group of experts and school leaders came to the Sino-German College to visit the exhibition of design works of visual communication students "Seeing and Learning from Each Other". The exhibition consisted of five modules, including creative design in the context of the epidemic, school-enterprise cooperation model, and commercial illustration training.

In the Chinese font module, the students cleverly quoted Mao Zedong's poems and recreated them through font evolution and spatial transformation, so that the sense of technology collided with the rhythm of poetry, and moreover reflected the integration of curriculum thinking and politics.

In this regard, Vice President of Zhejiang Wanli College Ma Jianrong said during his visit that he was pleased to see that while promoting internationalization, Sino-German College insisted on integrating curriculum thinking and politics into teaching construction and throughout all aspects of talent training, and Sino-German College deserves recognition for taking both into account.

Afterwards, the group went to the Western font classroom of Benjamin Vogt, a German teacher, to listen to the lessons. Due to the impact of the epidemic, some of the foreign teachers from China and Germany were still teaching online, and the Chinese teaching assistants were on site to help with the lessons. However, the students' enthusiasm to participate in the course was not diminished, as they experienced the full English class, and the Chinese teachers were also on hand to answer questions and solve problems, which enhanced the learning efficiency.

The expert group and the university leaders expressed their affirmation of the new model of "German foreign teachers and Chinese teaching assistants" and expected the Sino-German College to continue to maintain and improve the new model of international localization, and to provide reference for other second-level colleges and inspiration for the direction of international development.

In addition, the expert group also checked the excellent study notes of the Sino-German students, the syllabus prepared by the Sino-German teachers, as well as the internal archived materials of the institute. All the exhibited materials of the Sino-German College are in full English, which is well recognized by the experts and reflects the international character of the Sino-German College.

At the same time, under the introduction of Zhang Yiping, Executive Vice President of Sino-German College, the group of experts had a better understanding of the whole process of teaching quality control in line with international standards and the original intention of the creation of Sino-German College.

Finally, Vice President Ma Jianrong affirmed the new mode of running the Sino-German College and encouraged the College to cultivate cross-cultural design and communication talents who are globally competent and meet the challenges of globalization.

At the same time, he gave deep expectations for our college, hoping that our college can summarize the rich experience of foreign teaching to drive the training of young teachers, and cross-border online and offline teaching, and promote it to the whole college in the future, so as to play the role of radiation of international schooling of Sino-German College to the whole college.
