Eight German students from the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg Design and Communication and 12 sophomore students from the Sino-German School of Design and Communication will conduct a month-long practical course on cross-cultural cooperation and explore branding strategies with local enterprises. They will also work together with local companies to explore strategies for brand promotion.

Vice President Qian Guoying gave a welcome speech and welcomed the eight German students from BA to our university to study the practical course on the theme of "Chinese Culture and Chinese Brand" together with Chinese students. President Qian pointed out that the first course last year was very fruitful and both Chinese and German students learned a lot from each other. This year, the second course will be more enriched in terms of format and content, and I believe that German students can learn about Chinese culture, gain theoretical knowledge and experience of studying and working in Chinese cultural context, and enhance cross-cultural communication skills and teamwork ability. We also hope that the Chinese and German students can promote understanding and friendship through the series of activities arranged in the course, and become ambassadors of cultural exchange between Chinese and German youth.

Mr. Zhang Yiping introduced the course design, objectives and format of "Chinese Culture and Chinese Brand" to the students in the audience. He pointed out that in this course, German students will work together with Chinese students to understand the core values of Chinese culture and how these concepts are reflected in China's current visual culture, media communication, corporate management and other aspects. It also helped the Chinese and German students to understand the current development of modern Chinese companies and the needs of their brands in terms of cross-cultural development. The team of instructors present at the Sino-German Academy expressed their great anticipation for the results of the cooperation between the students of the two schools, and will invite the companies to the school and hope that the participants will document the learning practice and team communication process and present the results of the practice in the form of exhibitions, publications, etc.

Twelve sophomores from Sino-German College and eight German students from BA made a lively and interesting self-introduction in English in the subsequent "team formation" session and completed the team formation work on the spot, the participating students were divided into four groups, each group of students from two schools.

The course "Chinese Culture and Chinese Branding" is part of a series of courses to be developed by the Sino-German Institute on "Chinese Culture Going Global". This series of courses is designed to combine cross-cultural competence development and professional knowledge learning, and to enable university students from European countries to understand Chinese culture and its impact on Chinese society and economy.
