We're Sino-German | Cognition, Thinking, Judging, Choosing, by Zhu Zewei

"Cognition, Thinking, Judgment, ChoiceFour words that run through my four years of college life." Looking back on university life, Zhu Zewei thinks he is a climber, dare not hope to reach the top, has been down-to-earth in the advance, "the university, into the Sino-German brand since the Department of, a new concept, a new environment, inspired me to cognitive and exploratory enthusiasm, the process, contact and absorb a lot of novel knowledge and information, and further triggered my own career development, future planning and other aspects of in-depth thinking. In the process, I was exposed to and absorbed a lot of new knowledge and information, which further triggered me to think deeply about my career development and future planning. In this way.I am slowly finding my way through the acquisition of knowledge and reflection, the search for direction and choices."

As a 2024 graduate of the Exhibition Economics and Management (Sino-German 2+2) program, Zhu Zewei has received a letter fromThe University of Bristol, The University of Warwick, The University of Glasgow, The University of Southampton, The University of Nottingham, The University of Nottingham and The University of London. Nottingham.and other world-famous schools, as well as obtaining theUniversity of Southampton Pound2000of scholarships.

"Actually, I wasn't adamant about applying for graduate school and heading towards brand management from the start. Even when I went abroad, my idea when I enrolled was that since I had read the 2+2 program and my family supported it, I would go abroad to see the world." Zhu Zewei said, "But with the continuous intake of knowledge, as well as a series of internships and practices, deepening the understanding, and broadening the horizons of the world, I found myself for the profession has a more and more profound understanding. After much deliberation, he also slowly determined the direction he wanted to go in.

"When we first entered college, most of us were still stuck in the high school mindset of 'learning in class and grades come first', and a lot of our understanding of knowledge was only at the level of theory and classroom assignments. In my sophomore year, under the guidance of my teachers, I formed a cross-disciplinary group with other Chinese and German students to participate in the Internet+ competition, and together we created theTalk Look Art Farm Brand. I am primarily responsible forMarket Research and Competitive AnalysisModule. Data collection and comparison, strengths and weaknesses analysis, we actively mobilized our own knowledge base and worked closely with our team members to provide the strongest possible data support for the market positioning and development direction of the Talk Look Art Farm brand.

"That was the first time I applied what I learned in a purposeful practice. I actually can't remember the details a little bit, except that at that time I wasn't very comfortable in doing that. But in that process, I really felt that what I had learned about market research and so on was used in such a way, that it was important, and that I still had a lot to learn in-depth when it came to hands-on practice and encountering problems that we hadn't envisioned before.

"If this project experience gave me an initial realization of the significance of my major and the importance of practice, the real-life projects in companies that I later participated in the Sino-German classroom continued to reinforce these perceptions.

"Most of our courses are applied practice-oriented, with many real corporate projects being introduced into the classroom. During our study abroad in Germany, Prof. Bongard of the Strategic Planning for Brand Communication course led us out of the classroom and into the corporate world for practice. We partnered with Kiska, an internationally recognized branding and design firm.Developed the entry strategy for the gogoro electric car brand in mainland China. The project is a great success. Constantly fine-tuning the market analysis, precise research on audience groups, we all take every step pragmatically until the final project is exhibited.

"In the Interdisciplinary Practicum course project, I teamed up with students from other majors for theDeutsche Bahn offers recruitment campaigns in the field of employer branding.. Based on the weak sensitivity to advertising of the young IT community in the age of Z, a new employer branding campaign and recruitment advertising program was designed for DB in the game content of Cyberpunk 2077, utilizing the game DLC format.

"We will be asked to attend'Customer Demo'We present the program to the corporate side, explain the idea, and also receive feedback from the corporate mentors. Sometimes I feel that we are like real people in the workplace, trying to win the favor of our clients. The process of each project is full of challenges, which makes me constantly review my own professional strengths and weaknesses, and also makes me think over and over again about whether I am willing to go deeper in this field. The answer is that I want to gain more experience and learn more.

"During my junior year of college, I was determined to apply for graduate school, and I continued to expand my internship experience to hone my abilities and enrich my resume.

"In addition to my studies, I took the initiative to participate in and be responsible for curating and arranging three overseas photography exhibitions jointly organized by CNA and Zhejiang Wanli College, namely'50+50: 50th Anniversary of Sino-German Diplomatic Relations - Sino-German Youth Brand Design and Cultural Exchange Exhibition' 'Fuchun Mountain Dwelling Image Exhibition' 'Youth and the Sea Asian Games Xiangshan'.

"The preparation of the exhibition is a good opportunity for us to practice, which involves planning, designing and publicizing, all of which require us to fully mobilize the brand-related knowledge we have learned. We encountered a lot of difficulties in this process, such as how to choose the right printing channels and how to release the exhibition information in a way that suits international friends and attracts people to come to the exhibition. We had to pull out all the stops to make sure the show ran smoothly.

"Senior year.Renowned international brand and design agency KISKAWe were looking for an intern at a branded university of applied sciences in Germany. I think it was a little bit of luck that I was able to get this offer, but I have to say that we should always be prepared and think about our career plans. If there is anything I would like to share with you, it is that you should always be prepared, and that the accumulation of your professional knowledge and your thinking about your career plan can be demonstrated at the critical time. The ten minutes of the interview epitomizes the growth of the four years of college.

"Since April this year, I have been on an intercultural internship at Kiska Shanghai. My colleagues in the company come from different countries, and among them there are also German seniors who have graduated from the Brand University of Applied Sciences in Germany.mePart of Strategic Product Management (SPM)The company has been involved in theA famous sports equipment brand in Japan and a SSV brand in China.Projects to enter other countries' marketsThe process of communicating and collaborating with people from different cultures in English is undoubtedly challenging.

"There is still a difference between learning English and using it as a working language. The latter involves a lot of specialized vocabulary, as we come into contact with clients from all walks of life and from different countries with different needs. I was nervous and panicked at first, but I gradually adapted through study and seeking advice. I slowly started to enjoy this kind of work style and learned to deal with cultural conflicts at work effectively." And this internship eventually led him toChoose to accept an offer from the University of Warwick to specialize in International Trade, Strategy and Operations.

"Participation in competitions, curation of exhibitions, participation in projects and internships in German companies, these are the highlights of my personal statement for graduate school application and the opportunity for a shift in my thinking. I hope my experience can give some insight to my fellow students."
