On September 24, 2024, the General Party Branch of Sino-German Branding Department held a theoretical central group study meeting. The study took the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee as the theme for discussion, and was led by Huang Heqing, General Committee of the General Party Branch of Sino-German Branding Department, with a total of five members of the General Branch attending the meeting.
The Third Plenary Session of the Twentieth Central Committee of the CPC pointed out that, in building a strong educational country, higher education is the leader, an important combination of education, science and technology, and human resources, and that it has a major mission and a special position in the major national strategies. The leading role of higher education is mainly reflected in its leadership of the entire education system and its promotion of the economy and society. In terms of deepening the comprehensive reform of education, the meeting proposed to improve the mechanism of moral education, promote the reform and innovation of the integration of the ideological and political courses in universities, schools and elementary school, and improve the system of comprehensive cultivation of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. At the same time, the meeting called for improving the ability of teachers to teach and educate people, improving the long-term mechanism for building teacher morality, and deepening the reform of education evaluation in order to promote the overall development of students. Regarding the layout of higher education, the meeting proposed optimizing the structure of higher education and accelerating the construction of world-class universities with Chinese characteristics and superior disciplines. In particular, the meeting emphasized the categorization of higher education reforms and the establishment of a mechanism for adjusting the disciplinary settings and talent cultivation models that are driven by scientific and technological development and national strategic needs, so as to meet the urgent needs of national development. In addition, the meeting also proposed to strengthen the synergy between science and technology education and humanities education, and accelerate the construction of a vocational education system that integrates vocational education with universal education and industry and education, so as to better serve economic and social development. In promoting the opening up of high-level education, foreign high-level polytechnic universities are encouraged to come to China to run schools in cooperation in order to introduce high-quality educational resources.
Through this study, the members of the central group talked about the learning experience and experience in the context of building a strong educational country, combined with the academic department and their own actual situation. Comrade Li Danwei said that these reforms will help enhance the international competitiveness of China's higher education, especially the optimization of the structure and the strengthening of the synergy of science, technology and humanities education, which will provide a broader development platform for students and help cultivate composite talents with an international perspective. As an English teacher, he should recognize the importance of cross-cultural teaching to broaden students' international perspective, and should integrate socialist core values in teaching to help students establish the correct three views. Comrade Huang Heqing said that education needs to serve the national development, and the brand-related majors of Sino-German Branding Department are very much in line with the current strategic needs of the country, and we must explore the mode of local and international integration while introducing advanced teaching resources from abroad, and do a good job in the integration of industry and education. Comrade Gao Di said, as a party member teacher, I feel deeply responsible. I will follow the spirit of the Plenary Session, improve the quality of ideology and politics, innovate teaching and play an exemplary role.
