In recent years, the rapid development of foreign exchange and cooperation in Chinese higher education and the accelerated promotion of "One Belt, One Road" have led to an increasing number of teachers and students participating in various Sino-foreign cooperation programs and overseas exchange activities, and a large number of foreign students coming to China to study, but there is almost no training and curriculum specifically developed for teachers, administrative staff and students engaged in intercultural teaching in higher education, The China-EU RICH-Ed project aims to develop relevant training courses, teaching methods and materials to enhance the intercultural awareness of university students and other people from different backgrounds in the workplace, so as to improve the mutual understanding and tolerance between Chinese and foreign students and teachers in higher education cooperation. President Ying Min pointed out at the opening ceremony of the international symposium that under the initiative of "building a community of human destiny", one of the focal points of internationalization of higher education is how to cultivate professionals with strong intercultural communication skills, who are competent for various foreign-related positions under the "One Belt, One Road" strategy. The project will be of great benefit to many participants in the project. The project will have a positive impact on the intercultural learning and teaching of many students, teachers and administrators involved in higher education cooperation between China and abroad. Zhang Yiping, Vice President of Sino-German College of Design and Communication, said that Sino-German College adheres to the concept of "coupling and co-progress" and takes intercultural competence development as the core of basic teaching and learning.
During the conference, Prof. Weim of KU Leuven, Belgium, conducted a lecture on the topic of teaching and learning with big data. After the lecture, the scholars discussed the teaching design using the ADDIE model taught by Prof. Weim. In addition, the project team members discussed and discussed the training contents and methods of the upcoming intercultural competency training program for university teachers, and made a preliminary training plan, and the RICH-Ed project publicity action team reported and demonstrated the project's website construction, information publication and dissemination, and discussed related issues. During the meeting, teachers from KU Leuven, Belgium and KU Bologna, Italy participated in part of the meeting via web video, and communicated with the participants on site about the financial management, quality monitoring and evaluation of the project.
