On January 18, 2024, the General Party Branch of Sino-German Branding Department held a theoretical central group study meeting. The meeting centered on the complete, accurate and comprehensive implementation of the important ideas on doing a good job of the party's united front work in the new era, led by Luo Jun, member of the Party General Branch of the Chinese-German Branding Department, with a total of five members of the General Branch attending the meeting.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party has coordinated the overall situation of the strategy for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes that the world has not seen in a hundred years, and has made a comprehensive deployment of the united front work from the strategic high level of the governance of the country and strengthened the overall leadership of the united front work by making a series of efforts to make the united front work in the new era the greatest achievements, and formed the important thoughts on doing a good job of the united front work of the Party in the new era in the practice. General Secretary Xi Jinping has summarized the important thoughts on doing a good job of the Party's United Front in the new era with "twelve musts", profoundly answering the major theoretical and practical questions of why the United Front is needed in the new era, what kind of United Front is needed, and how to consolidate and develop the United Front, elevating the Party's understanding of the regularity of doing a good job of the United Front to a new level. It has elevated the Party's understanding of the regularity of good united front work to a new height. The important idea of doing a good job of the Party's united front work in the new era is the crystallization of the wisdom of the Party's united front's century-long history of development, and it is the fundamental guideline for the united front work in the new era, which the whole Party must completely, accurately and comprehensively implement. To strengthen the leadership of the United Front, the Party must adhere to the principles of the United Front work, adhere to the leadership of the CPC, adhere to hold high the banner of patriotism and socialism, adhere to focus on the center, serve the overall situation, adhere to the unity and grand coalition, adhere to the correct handling of the relationship between consistency and diversity, adhere to respect, safeguard and take care of the interests of allies, adhere to the wide and deep friendships with friends outside the Party, and adhere to the pattern of the Great United Front work. The "twelve musts", as an organic whole with rich connotations, strict logic and systematic completeness, are the fundamental guidelines for the Party and us to do a good job in the United Front Work in the current and future period.
Through this study, the members of the central group talked about the learning experience and experience around the general secretary Xi Jinping's idea of united front work, combined with the actual situation of the college and their own. Comrade Zhang Yiping, Secretary of the Party General Branch, said that the united front work in colleges and universities is an important part of the party's united front work, and as the Party General Branch of the second-level colleges and universities, we have to practically implement the united front work ideology, and the internationalized school running characteristics of the Sino-German Brand Department have also brought new thoughts on the united front work, and many expatriate teachers in the department are not the target of the united front work in traditional sense, but they are one of the important synergies of the internationalization of the school. Although many foreign teachers working in the department are not the target of the United Front Work in the traditional sense, they are one of the important synergies of our internationalized school running, so it is very necessary to include them in the United Front Work. In the future, we will arrange symposiums for the foreign teachers to strengthen the dialogues with the people from overseas, to deepen the mutual understanding, to promote the mutual integration and mutual appreciation of the professional construction, and also to promote the intercommunication of the people's hearts and to strive for the power of more knowledge of and friendship with China. Comrade Huang Heqing pointed out that with the continuous increase of the staff of the college, there are additions in the number of democratic parties and overseas returned faculty and staff, so it is necessary to improve the working mechanism as soon as possible, strengthen the communication and dialogues with the democratic party faculty and staff, guide them to understand the general policies of the Party and the country, the major issues in the life of the society as well as the important situation in the ideological-political and operational work of the unit, and listen to their opinions and suggestions seriously. Encourage them to contribute to the development of the college, the school and even the country; and do more practical things for them to play their roles. Comrade Luo Jun pointed out that in the face of the new situation, the field, content and mechanism of united front work in higher education have changed, and our school is in the critical period of upgrading to a university. Therefore, we should accurately understand the historical position, keep the sobriety and firmness of "catching up with the examination", have a heart for "the greatness of the country", implement "the greatness of the country's plan", clarify the working way, find the working position, strengthen the systematic and linkage work, and strengthen the systematic and linkage work.
