Speaker: Friederike Hantel

Speaker Bio: Friederike Hantel is a faculty member of the Department of Design at the Brand University of Applied Sciences in Germany. He studied and taught at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf and the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, where his field of research is animation and commercial illustration. Since 2015 Friederike works as an international freelance artist specializing in digital illustration. She was the artistic director and partner of the fashion project "Wide Awake Earth", where her work was widely recognized by the contemporary art world and invited to exhibitions in cities such as Hamburg (Germany), Madrid (Spain) and Milan (Italy). She has also organized workshops in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, among others, and presented at the Forward Festival. Personal work has been selected by prestigious fashion journals such as Vogue and Elle, and she has collaborated with global corporations including Lufthansa, Google, Facebook, Apple, The New York Times, and Nike.

Lecture content:
Friederike Hantel will share her career journey as a professional illustrator, from her initial foray into the art world to her current professional work, Friederike has developed her own unique style in illustration. She will present a colorful collection of work created over the years, recount her artistic evolution, discuss her techniques and inspirations, and share her experiences with commercial clients and creative insights.
